Indigo Diamonds

This is a customer quilt that was a kit.  I'm not naming any names here as it hasn't been gifted yet.

The client asked for a butterfly--and then I did a looping design to represent the flight path of the butterfly.
Such pretty fabrics in this qiult and some precise piecing too.

and a cosy navy minkee on the back.

This is Charlotte's Move Over quilt nad she made it king size!!  She asked for some light custom quilting.     This is what I came up with....

I really liked the fabrics Charlotte chose for this quilt

Frolic 2

If you feel like you've seen this quilt before, Vicki and I used some of the same fabrics in our Frolic quilts, so they look very similar --mine is here if you want to see it again.
I quilted an E2E version of Christina Cameli's Flourish on this quilt.  This was the cover design on her book Step by Step Free Motion Quilting ---its one of my go to reference books and part of my "get out of my quilting rut" effort to try new to me designs.   I've used it as background before, using it as an E2E was new.
I didn't get a photo of the whole backing, Vicki is using textiles from around her home as backing--it think this was originally a wrap/skirt.   It's fabulous, and the quilting shows much better than I expected.

Strippy Scrappy Quilt

Jean made this quilt and sent it to me for quilting.  It's a gift for her brother, and so I quilted a landscape texture on this.

I love how adding texture to simple, traditional quilts like this changes them.

Strip to Shore

I thought I'd try this pod design, and quilted only in the background fabrics on this quilt.  All the lines were freehand, but the angles were short enough it was OK--a few wobbles here and there, but the pods themselves are organic and each uniquely formed so I thought that was OK.

I am very pleased with the texture achieved on this quilt.

Vicki found lots of fabrics from Africa and other travels that she has decided to use as backings--the quilting shows surprisingly well on this busy fabric...
and look at this great panel she pieced in....
She even pieced in a label fabric in the bottom corner....she'll be able to write her label there.

Gin's Ohio Stars

This quilt is Gin's and she made it for a special occasion for someone in her life.   I like the constant gold fabric.    We decided on a phone consultation that E's and 3's would perfect for this quilt.
a pretty floral backing....

3 Quilts from Marilyn

Look at that nice fat roll on the takeup roller.  Marilyn brought 3 quilts with one 150" piece of minkee backing.   I had to load it perpendicular to how I normally load minkee but had no issues at all.    And, because I only needed 1" between quilts, Marilyn didn't need to buy as much backing as she would have with 3 different pieces.     All unfurled below....
As I mentioned in my previous post, I've been feeling in a quilting rut, so set out to use 3 new to me Christina Cameli designs.   I  took inspiration from fabrics....this quilt below had bubbles in the fabric, and the border fabric felt water-y to me as well, so I used Effervescence from Christinas Step by Step Free Motion quilting book.
I was 3/4 of the way through the quilt when I look at my reference page again and realized I could have been quilting through the center of the bubbles....but I think it looks just fine like this.

This quilt also read as water to me--and there were fish in the fabrics--so I gave them some seaweed to live in and eat.    Billow is the name on this design.
I like how it looks, however when stitching this design again I'll make sure the open spaces are smaller--narrower centers for the fronds

And these multicultural paper dolls?   There are bubbles in the border fabric, so I went with bubbles.   Christina calls this design Sylph.

This is of course the same soft yellow backing, but the photo isn't true.

Deborahs SW Panel

I have been watching Christina Cameli's Drawing Together videos on Instagram, AND I've been feeling like I'm in a rut (maybe because of being mostly at home for months on end).  Christina's book is one of my go to references--anyway I decided to challenge myself to use some new to me designs, and this is one of them.   Triangular spirals, which I thought were perfect for this quilt.

When Deborah picked up her quilt she said it was exactly what she had been thinking of, so that was a happy coincidence.

Animal Alphabet

Ann made this quilt for another grandson.  They were lucky enough to get 2 new grandsons in one week!!  Those cousins will have so much fun together.
Ann finds the neatest panels --this one got a boxy spiral.
I really like how the animals look paper pieced.
