Southwestern Quilt

Aren't the colors and shapes in this quilt great?   Vicki made this for her son's 18th birthday/graduation. 

Here's a partially quilted shot to see the difference quilting makes.  

 I was saving sharing this quilt until after it had been gifted in late August--and then I guess I saved it a few more months. 
I don't often quilt out a pantograph, but Square Spiral seemed appropriate for this quilt.  I like how it adds both lines and curves, and is also very geometric, as is the quilt pattern.

 If I recall correctly, it's a grey thread, it's sure showing brightly in this photo below, but the backing is true black--it's so hard to photograph minkee properly.
