I had sent this "in progress" photo to my SIL, and then we started speculating on how many pieces in the quilt....the blocks are 81 patches - except the star changes the count. I think I decided 89 pieces per block, 48 blocks....plus sashing and border--it's a LOT of pieces.

Scrappy Block of the Month
Margot brought me this scrappy block of the month quilt. She said she enjoyed doing it as a BoM because she didn't have the scraps to support this quilt when she made it years ago. It was heavy with all the seams from the tiny piecing.
I had sent this "in progress" photo to my SIL, and then we started speculating on how many pieces in the quilt....the blocks are 81 patches - except the star changes the count. I think I decided 89 pieces per block, 48 blocks....plus sashing and border--it's a LOT of pieces.
Margot chose to put an edge to edge freehand feather on this quilt. It was a great choice. It was fun to quilt--so many different fabrics to look at.
