We took our son on a trip to Alaska last year, and while the guys went on a whale watching tour I went to the quilt shop in Juneau. I bought the pattern and the Alaska themed fabrics there, and made this quilt for our son.
I think the otters are my favourite--I didn't take a closeup of them--the 2nd row, right hand navy fabric in the photo above.
like any other Atkinson Designs pattern I've made, this
Slide Show quilt just snapped together.
It looks a little more like film strip in this photo of the flimsy before the outer border was put on. I really like that border fabric too--it can either be the growlers (little chunks of ice floating in the ocean) or the night sky....
