Strip to Shore

This is Vicki's Strip to Shore, a GE Designs Pattern. 

I thought I'd try this pod design, and quilted only in the background fabrics on this quilt.  All the lines were freehand, but the angles were short enough it was OK--a few wobbles here and there, but the pods themselves are organic and each uniquely formed so I thought that was OK. 

I am very pleased with the texture achieved on this quilt. 

Vicki found lots of fabrics from Africa and other travels that she has decided to use as backings--the quilting shows surprisingly well on this busy fabric...

and look at this great panel she pieced in....

She even pieced in a label fabric in the bottom corner....she'll be able to write her label there.
